Welcome to Mrs. Kaiser's Web Page!
Announcements:
Digital Textbook Codes are finally ready! Go to the Resources page to learn how to access them. This is a great place for students who are absent to find the in-class work to stay caught up.
Reminder: Please take a few moments to review Infinite Campus with your child daily. It pays off in the end. I appreciate your efforts in establishing and maintaining this routine.
Meet Mrs. Kaiser!

I teach Life Science to 7th graders at Pine Middle School in Reno, Nevada and I LOVE it! I have a B.S. in Biology and a M.A. in Teaching. In 2006 I earned national board certification in early adolescent science. My goal is to get my students engaged in their learning by doing hands on activities in co-operative groups. Through problem-solving experiences both inside and outside the classroom my students build their observation and thinking skills to grow in their understanding of the natural world.
To broaden student's experience, I applied to the NOAA Teacher at Sea program and was selected to join a scientific research cruise in the summer of 2012. I spent 10 days aboard the NOAA Ship Nancy Foster in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. I observed scientists as they surveyed fish spawning patterns, used sonar to map ocean floor and assessed areas favored by fish for their habitat. I will incorporate these experiences into our life science study this year.
This web page is a resource for my students to view the planned activities for each week. If you are absent from school please use this website for make-up work or you can get missing assignments in the classroom by checking in the binder. I use a self-serve system and am often available a lunch break to answer student's questions. To see what students are doing in my classes click on the "Life Science Dailies" at the left of this page. Activities are posted for each week. You can usually find copies of handouts, video clips and other Internet learning resources. Access the digital textbook on the Resources page. Parents can also stay in touch with the class and help their student by using this website. Special announcements will be posted above throughout the year so check here often.
Thanks for using this resource to stay organized and be successful in class. See you at school!
